I used to write letters frequently. I still remember those nights clearly when I devoted myself into the writing. Every word was written down with the most sincere heart and the most intense desire to share. And the process of waiting for the reply was always the most beautiful part because of all those expectations and guesses about what he or she thought. I’m not sure if it’s the real exchange or not, but every time when I opened the letter I can truly feel support、understanding and care.
I admit that modern method of contact is more efficient and more diversified.
Take the micro-blog for instance, the most popular means of contact recently. It provides us with a platform which allows us to update our text at any time or upload the pictures、photos、music or videos that we like . But you know what, in my opinion , this is more like a self-presentation way. Actually we just want to record our lives, the travelling, the happiness or the feeling of a special moment, and we really are not very interested in what others are thinking about. So we may have more friends , but that doesn’t mean we are very familiar with each other. And speaking of e-mail and short messages, yes, they are more environmentally and more efficient, but they are just some cold words for me. All what I see is only a computer screen or a mobile phone screen. But whenever I read a letter, the person who I missed is just standing in front of me. I can even see his or her face. That’s really amazing. Perhaps because the letters are handwritten, and what I really cherished is a sincere heart hidden in each handwritten word. And I’m sure you used to feel the same way. Meanwhile, telephones can’t help a lot. Of course, you can talk with your friends or parents anytime, anywhere, but usually we just use the telephone to keep in touch with the people around us and we always hurried to say everything. Only the sound is not enough for us. Most of the time, it’s just one of tools to contact.
What is communication exactly? Frankly speaking, I can’t give an accurate answer, but from the point of my view, it’s the concern、care and understanding between heart and heart and it’s something to do with love, share and support.
I have to say , the ways of communication are powerful enough, what about our heart?
